What's next?

“So, now that you’ve graduated, what’s next?” The one question that every college graduate despises.

If you’re a recent college graduate, the one thing you have been doing consistently for a good majority of your life is attending school, hopefully getting an education during that time. Not that you asked, but if you started attending school when you were 2 years old, and it took you about 20 years since then to graduate college, you’ve been in school for about 28,800 hours (Excluding the fun time doing homework :’D).
I learned very recently from Alfred (my Boss from my on-campus job) that the reason behind calling it a commencement ceremony and not a graduation ceremony is because this is the stage where your real life commences. Prior to this big moment, you had been depending on your family, your teachers, and even friends to show you the ropes, but from this moment on, that dependency decreases as you enter this second stage in your life where you shift your focus onto your definition of success and becoming successful. I think the best part of my life begins with this new stage, because there’s nothing I abhor more than depending on people. Support is good and is very much welcome, but I also think the traditional African man in me likes to fend for himself.
Whatever stage you’re at in your post-grad journey, I hope you are loving it. If you feel like you didn’t end up pursuing your passions, I hope you find it in you to start over. Remember this is your journey, at your own pace, so there’s no need to worry about what other people are doing. Comparison is the thief of all happiness.
So, what’s next for me? That question is filled with levity because if you know me, you know I’m not telling you exactly what’s next. Where’s the fun in that?
I can tell you one thing – you can expect more artistry from the bottom of my heart, more ideas, and concepts from juju studio which I am very excited to share with you.
Aloba, O Bosso!
